Cookies Policy

Last updated: 26/02/2026

This page explains how SmartTranslate.ai uses cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies that are necessary for the operation of the Service and — with your consent — analytical cookies. You can manage your consent in the cookie banner.

1. What are cookies and similar technologies

  • Cookies are small text files stored on the user’s device (for example a computer or phone).
  • They can be session cookies (removed after closing the browser) or persistent cookies (stored for a specified period).
  • In addition to cookies, similar technologies (for example localStorage) may be used to remember preferences and ensure the Service functions correctly.

2. What categories of cookies we use

  • Necessary: required for the basic operation of the Service, security, session maintenance and remembering key preferences. These cookies are always active and cannot be disabled in the banner (because the Service will not work properly without them).
  • Analytical (optional): help measure traffic and understand how users use the Service, so we can improve performance and the user experience. These cookies are enabled only after you give consent.

3. Consent and managing preferences

  • On first visit you will see a cookie banner where you can accept all cookies or choose only the necessary ones.
  • You may change or withdraw consent for analytical cookies at any time by reopening the settings in the cookie banner (or by deleting cookies in your browser).
  • Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

4. Examples of cookies used in the Service

  • Consent preferences: a cookie set by the banner mechanism (e.g. "cc_cookie") to remember the user’s choices.
  • Language preferences: a cookie that stores the selected language variant (e.g. "smartTranslate_language").
  • Analytics (with consent): cookies from analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics: "_ga", "_gid" and related variants).
  • Authentication (if sign-in is available): session cookies from the authentication provider may be used to maintain sessions and security.

5. Analytics providers and modes of operation

  • On the Service we may use Google Analytics 4 with Google Consent Mode v2 and Cloudflare Web Analytics.
  • We load and run analytics tools according to your choices in the cookie banner. If you do not consent to the analytics category, we do not run analytics cookies and we limit tracking to what is lawful.
  • Details about personal data processing in connection with analytics are set out in the Privacy Policy.

6. How to manage cookies yourself in the browser

  • You can delete cookies and block their storage in your browser settings.
  • Blocking necessary cookies may cause the Service to malfunction (for example issues with signing in or remembering settings).
