Cookie Policy
Last updated: 26/02/2026
This page explains how SmartTranslate.ai uses cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies that are essential for the operation of the Service and — with your consent — analytics cookies. You manage consent in the cookie banner.
1. What are cookies and similar technologies
- Cookies are small text files stored on the user’s device (e.g., computer or phone).
- They can be session cookies (removed when the browser is closed) or persistent cookies (retained for a specified period).
- Besides cookies, similar technologies (e.g., localStorage) may be used to remember preferences and ensure the Service functions correctly.
2. What categories of cookies we use
- Essential: required for the basic functioning of the Service, security, session maintenance and remembering key preferences. These cookies are always active and cannot be disabled in the banner (without them the Service may not work properly).
- Analytics (optional): help measure traffic and understand how users use the Service so we can improve performance and the user experience. These cookies are enabled only with your consent.
3. Consent and managing preferences
- On first visit a cookie banner is displayed where you can accept all cookies or choose only the essential ones.
- You may change or withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time by reopening the settings in the banner (or by deleting cookies in your browser).
- Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to the withdrawal.
4. Examples of cookies used on the Service
- Consent preferences: a cookie set by the banner mechanism (e.g. "cc_cookie") to remember the user’s choices.
- Language preferences: a cookie that remembers the chosen language variant (e.g. "smartTranslate_language").
- Analytics (with consent): cookies from analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics: "_ga", "_gid" and related variants).
- Authentication (if log in is available): the login provider’s session cookies may be used to maintain sessions and security.
5. Analytics providers and how they operate
- On the Service we may use Google Analytics 4 with Google Consent Mode v2 and Cloudflare Web Analytics.
- We load and run analytics tools in accordance with your choices in the cookie banner. If you do not consent to the analytics category, we do not run analytics cookies and limit tracking to the extent permitted by law.
- Details about personal data processing related to analytics are available in the Privacy Policy.
6. How to manage cookies in your browser
- You can delete cookies and block their storage in your browser settings.
- Blocking essential cookies may cause the Service to malfunction (e.g., problems with logging in or remembering settings).
