Cookies Policy

This page explains how SmartTranslate.ai uses cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies that are necessary for the operation of the Service and — with your consent — analytical cookies. You manage your consent in the cookie banner.
1. What are cookies and similar technologies
- Cookies are small text files stored on the user’s device (e.g. a computer or phone).
- They can be session cookies (deleted after closing the browser) or persistent cookies (kept for a specified period).
- Besides cookies, similar technologies (e.g. localStorage) may be used to remember preferences and ensure the functioning of the Service.
2. What categories of cookies we use
- Necessary: required for the basic functioning of the Service, security, maintaining sessions and remembering key preferences. These cookies are always active and cannot be disabled in the banner (the Service will not work properly without them).
- Analytical (optional): help measure traffic and understand how users interact with the Service, to improve performance and the user experience. We enable these cookies only after you give consent.
3. Consent and managing preferences
- On your first visit a cookie banner is shown where you can accept all cookies or choose only the necessary ones.
- You can change or withdraw consent for analytical cookies at any time by reopening the settings in the cookie banner (or by deleting cookies in your browser).
- Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to the withdrawal.
4. Examples of cookies used in the Service
- Consent preferences: a cookie set by the banner mechanism (e.g. "cc_cookie") to remember the user’s choices.
- Language preferences: a cookie that remembers the selected language variant (e.g. "smartTranslate_language").
- Analytics (with consent): cookies from analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics: "_ga", "_gid" and related variants).
- Authentication (if sign-in is available): session cookies from the sign-in provider may be used to maintain sessions and security.
5. Analytics providers and modes of operation
- On the Service we may use Google Analytics 4 with Google Consent Mode v2 and Cloudflare Web Analytics.
- We load and activate analytics tools according to your choices in the cookie banner. If you do not consent to the analytics category, we do not enable analytics cookies and we limit tracking to what is permitted by law.
- Details about the processing of personal data in relation to analytics are available in the Privacy Policy.
6. How to manage cookies yourself in the browser
- You can delete cookies and block their storage in your browser settings.
- Blocking necessary cookies may cause the Service to function improperly (e.g. problems with signing in or remembering settings).
