Cookie Policy

Last updated: 26/02/2026

This page explains how SmartTranslate.ai uses cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies that are necessary for the operation of the Service and, with your consent, analytical cookies. You can manage your consent in the cookie banner.

1. What are cookies and similar technologies

  • Cookies are small text files stored on the user's device (e.g., a computer or phone).
  • They can be session cookies (deleted when the browser is closed) or persistent cookies (kept for a specified period).
  • Besides cookies, similar technologies (e.g. localStorage) may be used to remember preferences and to ensure the Service works.

2. What categories of cookies do we use

  • Necessary: required for the basic functioning of the Service, security, session maintenance and remembering key preferences. These cookies are always active and cannot be disabled in the banner (without them the Service will not function correctly).
  • Analytical (optional): help measure traffic and understand how users interact with the Service in order to improve performance and UX. We only enable these cookies with your consent.

3. Consent and managing preferences

  • On your first visit a cookie banner is displayed where you can accept all cookies or choose only the necessary ones.
  • You can change or withdraw your consent to analytical cookies at any time by reopening the banner settings (or by removing cookies in your browser).
  • Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal.

4. Examples of cookies used on the Service

  • Consent preferences: a cookie set by the banner mechanism (e.g. "cc_cookie") to remember the user's choices.
  • Language preferences: a cookie that remembers the selected language variant (e.g. "smartTranslate_language").
  • Analytics (with consent): cookies from analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics: "_ga", "_gid" and related variants).
  • Authentication (if login is available): session cookies from the login provider may be used to maintain sessions and security.

5. Analytics providers and modes of operation

  • We may use Google Analytics 4 with Google Consent Mode v2 and Cloudflare Web Analytics on the Service.
  • We load and activate analytics tools according to your choices in the cookie banner. If you do not consent to the analytical category, we will not enable analytical cookies and will limit tracking to what is legally permitted.
  • Details about personal data processing in relation to analytics can be found in the Privacy Policy.

6. How to manage cookies in your browser yourself

  • You can delete cookies and block their storage in your browser settings.
  • Blocking necessary cookies may cause the Service to malfunction (e.g. issues with logging in or remembering settings).
