Cookie Policy
Last updated: 26/02/2026
This page explains how SmartTranslate.ai uses cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies that are necessary for the operation of the Service and — with your consent — analytical cookies. You can manage your consent in the cookie banner.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
- Cookies are small text files stored on a user’s device (e.g., a computer or phone).
- They can be session cookies (deleted when the browser is closed) or persistent cookies (kept for a specified period).
- Besides cookies, similar technologies (e.g., localStorage) may be used to remember preferences and ensure the Service works correctly.
2. What categories of cookies we use
- Necessary: required for the basic operation of the Service, security, session maintenance and remembering key preferences. These cookies are always active and cannot be disabled in the banner (the Service will not function properly without them).
- Analytical (optional): help measure traffic and understand how users use the Service in order to improve performance and UX. We enable these cookies only after you give consent.
3. Consent and managing preferences
- On your first visit a cookie banner is shown where you can accept all cookies or choose only the necessary ones.
- You can change or withdraw your consent to analytical cookies at any time by reopening the settings in the banner (or by deleting cookies in your browser).
- Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
4. Examples of cookies used on the Service
- Consent preferences: a cookie set by the banner mechanism (e.g. "cc_cookie") to remember the user’s choices.
- Language preferences: a cookie remembering the selected language variant (e.g. "smartTranslate_language").
- Analytics (with consent): cookies from analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics: "_ga", "_gid" and related variants).
- Authentication (if login is available): session cookies from the authentication provider may be used to maintain sessions and security.
5. Analytics providers and modes of operation
- On the Service we may use Google Analytics 4 with Google Consent Mode v2 and Cloudflare Web Analytics.
- We load and run analytics tools according to your choices in the cookie banner. If you do not consent to the analytics category, we do not run analytical cookies and limit tracking to what is legally permitted.
- Details on personal data processing related to analytics are available in the Privacy Policy.
6. How to manage cookies yourself in the browser
- You can delete cookies and block their storage in your browser settings.
- Blocking necessary cookies may cause the Service to function incorrectly (e.g., problems with signing in or remembering settings).
